The PCIe x8 Gen4 for Bifurcated M.2 NVMe Dual Port AIC is a top-of-the-line solution for connecting two M.2 NVMe drives to a PCI Express 4.0 interface. With two built-in M.2 M-key female connectors, the DP8202 can be offered in two x4 data link width configurations, which require CPU and BIOS support.
This adapter is equipped with a 100MHz clock buffer that is designed to drive longer trace lengths and cables, making it ideal for use in demanding environments. The built-in SMCLK and SMDAT bidirectional buffer repeater, SMBUS I/O expander for SMBRST# & PWRDIS control, and PERST# Bus Buffer Gate also allow for easy and reliable connections.
The PWM synchronous buck converter power IC provides a maximum output current of 8A and is equipped with short circuit protection, in-rush current suppression, thermal shutdown protection, and ESD HBM (Human Body Mode)/2KV for ultimate protection. Each M.2 port also has a 5A current load switch power to protect M.2 NVMe SSDs.
The LED1, LED3 green LED indicates that the M.2 NVMe SSD is powered on, while the LED2, LED4 red LED blinks to indicate that the M.2 SSD is active.
