This feature enables the NUC to communicate with legacy devices that require RS232 serial communication with a DB9 Connection for and appropriate accessory cable.
The NUC RS232 unit has a small PCB (printed circuit board) in the GORITE cable that is installed to the NUC unit. It is connected to the NUC MB with a 4-Pin connector cable that attaches to one of the NUC internal USB 2.0 headers on the MB. Once installed GORITE NUC accessory the D-Sub 9 Pin RS232 serial port can now be used for communication with serial devices such as barcode scanners, printers, and other industrial equipment.
