The SlimSAS 8i SAS cables are designed for use with 2U storage backplanes. These cables support SAS 2.0 performance, allowing for up to 12Gb/s per channel in each direction (24Gb/s total).
The SFF-8654 SlimSAS 8i to SFF-8639 U.3 Cable X4 is a high-quality, low-latency cable that allows you to connect your SAS drive enclosure to your computer. This cable can be used with all SAS-based servers and workstations, including Dell PowerEdge servers and HP ProLiant servers.
Connecting your SAS storage devices to your server with this cable eliminates the need for additional hardware, such as a RAID controller or host bus adapter (HBA). This reduces the overall size of your system, making it easier to install and maintain.
It is also compatible with any storage device that supports SAS 12Gb HBAs at the device level, such as HPE Smart Array P408e controllers and HPE MSA 2040 Storage arrays.
It is used to connect slim SAS hard drives, SSDs and storage arrays to the SAS interface of your server or storage system.
