The OCuLink SFF-8611 to SFF-8654 Cable allows you to connect SAS and SATA devices across a PCI Express (PCIe) interface.
The cable supports Gen4 speed for a maximum of 7.2 Gb/s throughputs per direction. The cable meets the PCIe 3.0 specification, but it is also backward compatible with previous versions of PCIe.
The cable is designed to allow the connection of a SATA storage device, such as a hard disk drive, solid-state drive, or optical drive, to a SAS controller via the SFF-8654 connector. It comes with two 40-pin connectors on each end: one for SAS and one for SATA. This cable has 8 active wires and supports speeds up to 6 Gbps when used with compatible controllers.
