SlimSAS 8i SFF-8654 interfaces are often used in server environments with different kinds of storage solutions. This cable allows you to connect two storage devices with SAS capabilities to your server or storage system.
The SFF-8654 interface has a large number of pins for differential signal transmission and can support up to 8 lanes at 3 Gb/s per lane. The cable is also known as SlimSAS 8i (SFF-8654) Cable to Two U.2 Connectors - 100 CM, which is the most commonly used cable version. It is used for connecting storage devices to SAS host adapters in server systems or storage systems.
The array of connectors on each cable end differs from most other cables we carry in our inventory. On one end, there are two SFF-8643 connectors that you would normally find on a SAS controller card or HBA card, but on the other end, there are two U.2 connectors that you would normally find on an NVMe SSD or PCIe expansion card with NVMe support.
